Access control is optimally implemented with the aid of RFID technology, ideally operating at the UHF frequency (865 928 MHz) with long reading ranges of up to 18 meters. iDTRONIC has developed a RFID readers to facilitate this process, namely the BLUEBOX Mid-Range Reader (CX–AVI) with integrated antenna. This device supports a RS232/RS485, Ethernet or CANbus and has an easy to install IP65-rated housing. The RFID reader supports a wide range of transponders and tags covered by the ISO 18000-6C (EPC Class 1 Generation 2) standard.
